I got my wheels, now what?

My third child got a wheelchair to able to go, go, go.  They are 10 years old and really don't want to be pushed in a stroller anymore.  They want independence and autonomy to go where they want to go.   The chair was order in August 2024 and it was received in April 2025.  Do you think that is a long time to wait for the chair to be processed?  I believe it is a long time.  The assessments determined that having the chair was necessary but the system isn't streamlined enough to get the chair in a timely fashion.   

Now that we have the chair we are struggling to take the chair to the places the kid needs/wants to go.  We have a mini van, Honda Odyssey, but this type of van isn't ideal for any modification nor easily works out to get the chair in the van.

We are on a quest to figure out how to solve this problem.   Our child is an ambulatory wheel chair user so they are able to go places on their own but can't walk for long distances and have balance issues.
